Travelling down the Highway

Well the weather forecast promised sunshine and showers....well it was more like showers and sunshine! A 6:30am start in a wet Point Cook, did not damped spirits for the annual GOR. Even if our fearless leader was a bit confused on the start time and even forgot his early morning coffee.....

After a quick trip round Geelong and a pick up at Warne Ponds, we headed on our way to the entry to the Great Ocean Rd.

As the weather cleared we hit the GOR! 15 MINI's taking on Victoria's greatest driving road! Buzzing through towns and round corners, we made the most of a somewhat bumpy and potholey surface!

After finally finding a venue for breakfast large enough for our group late on Friday, thanks Peter, we headed to Chris's at Skene's Creek, for a lovely breakfast and view.

A slight miscommunication in directions meant a trip along the twisty and dirty Beech-Forrest Road. However much fun was had through the rainforest.

I wasn't late! You were early! :P

It was clean, honestly!

A great day was had by all with some going on to the 12 Apostles or staying in Apollo Bay! Till next year!

Kinglake Early Morning Run in the Hills!

Heading out of Eltham

February's run saw clubMINI take on the hills around Kinglake before heading down to Yarra Glen for breakfast! We had a great turnout at McDonalds in Eltham, taking 13 MINI's along some great roads and enjoying a beautiful February morning. It wasn't just us enjoying the sunshine with numerous cyclists out and about.

clubMINI Picnic in Ballarat - January Fun!

What started as a grey day ended with a lovely drive, beautiful hot sunshine and a picnic by lake Wendouree, Ballarat. 9 MINI's made their way to Werribee South for breakfast at Wyndham Cache, who coped wonderfully with 15 people turning up unannounced! The cars looked great parked next to the lake with our new banners on display!

Sunday 11th Dec, saw clubMINI Victoria, take to Albert Park Lake for the clubMINI Christmas BBQ in the park with MINI's! A great MINI club display along Albert Rd got the attention of the local, runners, cyclists and drivers alike! With 22 MINI's on display, from cooper's to clubman's and even a Targa Tasmania prepared Cooper S!

From Albert Park, clubMINI made its way through the city in 3 convoys taking in Chapel St, Brunswick St and Smith St, to the amazement of shoppers and diners alike!

ClubMINI finished up at the Mini Experience Magazine Grand Day Out at Cooper's Settlement, Bundoora Park. Where on display were a number of Mini's, Moke's, MINI's and various other interesting vehicles!

Hotham Weekend - Nov 2011

The clubMINI annual pilgrimage to the mountains took place over the weekend 26th/27th Nov, staying on top of the mountain at the Burrumbeep Ski Lodge. We had 9 MINI's, 7 driving up for the weekend, meeting 2 more in Bright!

It was a pretty nasty weekend weather wise but great company, a roaring fire and some fantastic roads and hospitality ensured we had an amazing time in the Great Alpine Region!

Vernon Run!

November saw clubMINI take to the tried and trusted roads around Healesville for the annual Vernon Run! A great turnout of MINI's met at the new McDonalds in Ringwood, to enjoy the lovely spring weather!

After driving through the suburbs we took the hills, enjoying a brief stop in Healesville before heading off to Myer's Creek Rd. The stop made all the less brief with a slight starting issue, promptly solved by our very own man who can!

clubMINI Motorsport @ Winton 6 Hr Regularity Relay!

Doncaster MINI Garage & ClubMINI Motorsport took part in the 2011 6Hr relay at Winton raceway in October. Even after loosing a driver to illness before the weekend began and finding the accommodation "interesting", spirits were high and so were the expectations. Whilst a 3rd place was very respectable, resolve is firm to make it a win next year! So congratulations to our team of 4 MINI Cooper S's, 3 First Gen Targa MINI's and 1 Second Gen Ex Challenge MINI, and good luck for next year!
